Cafe Manna - All vegetarian restaurant with many vegan options located in Brookfield. The menu changes seasonally. They are the first Certified Green Restaurant in Wisconsin.
Verduras - An all-vegetarian cafe and tea house which opened in August 2011. They offer several vegan salads, sandwiches, and soups as well as some vegan desserts.
Riverwest Co-op Cafe - A small cafe located within the Riverwest Co-op natural foods grocery store. They offer special meals on different nights and have some great sandwiches and brunch offerings. Even though it's small, they deliver up some amazing vegan food!
Bombay Sweets - Vegetarian Indian restaurant on the south side of Milwaukee. Ask them about their vegan options. You can also order food to-go or they will cater for you.
Jay's Juiced! - This is a brand new truck that features freshly juiced organic fruits and veggies, Anodyne coffee, Rishi tea, Macrobars, hemp protein/fiber add ins, and wheatgrass shots! Watch him on Twitter to find out where in the city you can get some fresh juices!
American or Mixed Cuisines
Comet Cafe - Restaurant and bar serving a mix of meaty foods and vegan/vegetarian offerings. They have a fantastic vegan reuben and tasty brunch options. They often have a selection of vegan desserts as well.
Palomino - Half meaty, half vegan restaurant and bar with a southern truck-stop feel. They serve usually up until 11pm and have a great selection of fried foods.
Honeypie - Owned partially by the same folks who own Comet and Palomino. Located in the Bay View neighborhood, they have a decent selection of sandwiches (the "pork" slaw is amazing) and always vegan dessert options.
Beans & Barley - Long-time east side staple in Milwaukee, this restaurant has been loved by vegetarians for years. They have a few vegan sandwiches, burritos, chili, bakery, and a fantastic brunch.
Fresh Eco Cafe & Juice Bar - Located in Mequon, this cafe has many healthy vegan and raw options available. It appears they also sell fruit bouquets and centerpieces, but I didn't see details on the site aside from beautiful images. Update Dec 2011--the website URL doesn't seem to be working, so I linked to an article about the restaurant. They are still open.
County Clare - This Milwaukee Irish Inn and restaurant has been in business for years--they have a restaurant, pub, B&B and they also offer tours in Ireland (which I did back in 2004). I hadn't been to the restaurant in years because their vegan offerings were limited, but I was just informed they have a completely separate vegetarian menu now, with many options available vegan.
Brocach - This is an Irish Pub on Water Street that has a few options that can be served vegan. I have not visited yet, but I was told that they can make the vegetarian shepherds pie vegan and the Ploughman's veggie plate vegan without the cheese. The black bean burger can be made on a french roll without cheese. Ask your server to point out some of these vegan options.
Riverwest Co-op Cafe - See listing under All Vegetarian Restaurants.
Satellite Crepes - A local food cart that offers vegan crepes (along with their standard non-vegan options). They have both sweet and savory options and now offer Daiya cheese in their crepes. Follow them on Twitter @satellitecrepes or Facebook to keep up on their current location.
Fuel Cafe - Cool coffeehouse where none of the furniture or the dishes match, but there is always good art on the walls. They have a few vegan lunch options and a fantastic vegan chili served only on the weekends.
Roots - A gourmet restaurant with mostly non-vegan options, but they always have a few vegan choices available. They are usually fairly flexible in offering modified dishes to make them vegan. The menu is seasonal, so if you see something that sounds good, it's worth a try when you're in the mood for a fancier meal.
Odd Duck - This farm-to-table restaurant opened in Bay View in April 2012 and offers several vegan options for lunch and dinner. I haven't visited yet, but the descriptions sound great. One of the featured lunch options is a vegan bahn mi sandwich--I'm definitely going to have to try that one!

The Eatery on Farwell - Now serving several delicious vegan options, definitely worth checking out. From a Field Roast sausage sandwich to Ratatouille sandwiches--there are some great options that you won't find anywhere else in town. They are actively seeking out other veggie suggestions via Facebook and Twitter, so share your feedback!
Dr. Dawg - A restaurant dedicated to hot dogs with locations in Glendale and Manitowoc. They offer two types of Field Roast brand vegan sausages served with carmelized onions on a poppy seed bun. UPDATE 4/2012: I was informed that Dr. Dawg has closed. :(
Hotch-a-Do - An east side restaurant with lots of vegetarian options, many also vegan. They also have a few breakfast/brunch options and vegan chili served daily.
Stonefly Brewery - A Riverwest spot with tons of vegetarian options and a handful of vegan ones. They have a vegan burger to which you can add different toppings. They have some other choices that could be vegan with the removal of sauce or cheese. They also have a tofu scramble on their brunch menu.
Ginger - A tapas bar with a few vegan options.
Cafe Centraal - A large Bay View establishment with a huge beer selection and a few vegan options. Their Five Spice Ginger Tofu is delicious and naturally vegan. They also have a vegan chili and often offer vegan soups. Ask the wait staff about other possible adjustments to menu items. Avoid the veggie burger (has dairy in it).
Big Frank's Wiener Waggin - A new (in 2011) local food truck offering tons of totally non-vegan items, but also they carry the Field Roast Italian Sausages which are vegan. You can find them around town at different events--follow them on facebook or twitter for their schedule.

Soups and Chilis
Fuel Cafe - Vegan chili is served up each weekend until it's gone. Comes with fresh bread and you might even be able to get vegan sour cream.

Beans & Barley - They offer a different take on vegan chili using bulgar wheat. Served with a fresh roll and vegan butter if you ask. Avocado and onions are also available toppings. Available any time of day. In addition, they offer a delicious vegan soup-of-the-day everyday!
Chili Lili's Chili Bar - Located in the third ward, they have a vegan chili option made with portobellos, squash, eggplant, soy beans, and more. Ask for it without the cheese. UPDATE: They have temporarily closed as of late July 2011.
The Soup House - This downtown soup restaurant has a vegan option each day and a nice atmosphere.
The Soup Market - They have three locations including Bay View, The Milwaukee Public Market, and Hales Corners. They often offer vegan soups--check the website for their soup forecast.

Hotch-a-Do - I got to try their chili at the 2011 Rockabilly Chili contest--very tasty!
Hi Fi Cafe - They have a vegan chili that is different than all the others. Warm up with some coffee or tea and a cup of chili.

Tandoor - Indian restaurant on highway 100. Lunch buffet on weekends with several vegan options. The regular menu has many vegetarian and vegan options. Ask your server about dishes without dairy.
Majaraja - Located on the east side, they offer a lunch buffet throughout the week and regular lunch and dinner entrees. Generally, I don't find as many vegan options in the buffet usually, but you can always order from the menu. I was recently told that they might have dairy products in their rice. Definitely ask about which options are made without butter (ghee) or yogurt.
Taj Mahal - Another Indian restaurant on Hwy 100. Check out the site for their menu and a coupon for your next visit. Excellent lunch buffet! As always, ask about which options are dairy-free.

Italian and Pizza
Marchese's Olive Pit - UPDATE: Unfortunately for all of us, they closed in December of 2011. :-(

For vegans, you can choose one of their specialty pizzas or build your own with soy cheese.
