1. Ian's Pizza
2. Classic Slice
4. Little DeMarini's
5. Roman Candle
What a great variety! Some vegans like Daiya cheese, some like Follow Your Heart and some like no cheese at all--we've got them all covered here. I was thrilled that I was able to list 9 vegan-friendly pizza places in Milwaukee, but I see several of you voted for "Other," so I'd love to hear your favorite places for pizza--share in the comments or on Facebook!
Thanks for participating in another enlightening poll, everyone!
Since I have access to a poll app for the website, I'm going to try running some polls to get your input on being vegan in the Milwaukee area. I love getting feedback and new ideas from everyone!
So, for our first poll, vote for your go-to grocery store for vegan-friendly food. Spread the word so we can get lots of input! I'll post the results here and on social media in one week!
UPDATE 2/12/2017: The results are in! Here are your favorites:
#2 Outpost Natural Foods
#3 Whole Foods
#4 Trader Joe's
#5 Tie between Riverwest Co-op and Fresh Thyme
It was great to get everyone's feedback--thanks to everyone who participated! I have only made it out to Woodman's a few times, but it seems like they have a big variety and really good prices--I'll have to make a point to check it out more often. I live near an Outpost Foods and I'm a member, so I shop there a lot, but love to take a trip to Fresh Thyme or Whole Foods once in awhile. For me, Trader Joe's is the best place to go for beer and wine (I love Green Fin wine--it's organic and only $4.99!). Here's a page with all the vegan wines from Trader Joe's. The Riverwest Co-op is a bit of a trek for me, but I LOVE their cafe so much, so whenever I can I try to make it out there for a meal and a little shopping too--they've got a nice selection of vegan cheeses, faux meats, veggies, ice cream and other frozen goods. I also like to pick up a lot of low-priced staples at Target since we shop there for other home goods. They've got great deals on Just Mayo products and canned goods like organic beans, pasta sauces, etc. We also have a Costco membership, and although the one I go to in New Berlin doesn't have a ton of vegan-specific items, they also have some great staples like canned items, sauces, spices, bread and noodles.
Thanks again, everyone...and watch for another poll coming really soon!
