Kathy E has generously offered her house as the location of the next Milwaukee Vegan Meetup on July 9th at Noon. Dust off your recipe collection and prepare to share your special potluck dish with other local vegans.

Be sure to RSVP and the address for the event will be sent to you. You'll want to bring a dish to pass, a lawn chair and whatever beverage you'd like to drink. Everything else will be provided (plates, cups, etc).

Check out the Milwaukee Vegan Meetup site for more details and to RSVP!

The fantastic food documentary, FORKS OVER KNIVES, has finally made it to Milwaukee! It will be playing at the Downer Theatre starting Friday June 10th every day at 5:00, 7:15, and 9:25 and also Friday thru Sunday at 12:30 and 2:45.

Essentially, FORKS OVER KNIVES is a documentary on food and health based on the most comprehensive study of diet in history.  It's funny and uplifting, a message of hope and empowerment. FORKS OVER KNIVES examines the profound claim that most, if not all, of the so-called “diseases of affluence” that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by adjusting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods. The major storyline in the film traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering yet under-appreciated researchers, Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.

Roger Ebert says this is a "film that could save your life." Read his review here.

You can also find complete details and a trailer at the website, http://www.forksoverknives.com.

If you'd like to volunteer to help spread the word, or if you'd like to help pass out materials after any of the shows, please contact me.

Otherwise, just make sure to attend one of the showings...and bring a friend or family member that might benefit from the message!
